Liquid penetrant (PT) also referred as dye penetrant is an inexpensive Nondestructive testing technique which can be performed by qualified certified inspectors. Different NDT Codes, Specifications and Procedures require the inspection to be performed in a particular manner. Each has its own requirements to be followed.  Depending on the critical nature of the part, an inspector performing Liquid penetrant (PT) should be qualified and certified to a Level 2 or 3 per an NDT qualification and certification procedure such as SNT-TC-1A. All our level 1 always work under direct supervision of a level 3.

(PT) is used to detect casting, forging and welding surface defects such as hairline cracks, surface porosity, leaks in new products, and fatigue crack on in-service components.
